Heihe City, located in the northwest of Heilongjiang Province, has a cold temperate continental monsoon climate. It is hot and windy in spring, rainy and hot in summer. In autumn, the temperature drops sharply. Winter is cold and dry. Winter is long and summer is short. There are four distinct seasons. The city has an average annual precipitation of 500-550 mm, sunshine hours of 2560-2700 hours, annual average temperature of -1.3-0.4 ℃, daily maximum temperature of 38.2 ℃ and minimum temperature of -40 ℃. It is one of the severe cold zones in China.

In September, 2011, Dingyi company completed the project of Heihe 500kV converter station signboard. Up to now, 8 years have passed, and all the signs are still bright as new without any fading or falling off.
